Sagkeeng First Nation Washrooms
Sagkeeng First Nation, MB
Status: In Construction
Location: Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba
Client: Sagkeeng First Nation
Project Collaboration: BridgmanCollaborative Architecture
This project supports the construction of two changeroom and washroom buildings on the north and south shores of Sagkeeng First Nation, designed to serve the new splash pads being installed in each location. These facilities will provide safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces for families and youth to gather, play, and cool off during the summer months.
An in‑person design workshop was held on site with students from Sagkeeng Anicinabe High School. Youth helped determine the location, shape, and functional layout of the buildings, ensuring the spaces reflect how they will be used and what the community needs most. As part of the project’s commitment to hands‑on learning and community involvement, students will also assist in the construction gaining valuable experience and contributing directly to a space they helped envision.
These buildings will enhance recreational infrastructure in Sagkeeng while fostering community connection and youth engagement through thoughtful, collaborative design.
